SCQM database

The electronic patient dossier that makes advances in treatment possible

Recognising and deciding - these two skills are what characterise medical work. This is exactly where the SCQM database supports you. Automatically calculated scores and the clear visualisation of the progression of the disease make connections visible and improvements measurable.

FAQs: Questions and answers on database use

+
Who can use the database?

The database is available free of charge to specialists in rheumatology, allergology and immunology.

+
Which patients can be included?

All patients with one of the following diseases can be included in the registry, regardless of their therapy.

  • Rheumatoide Arthritis
  • Axial spondyloarthritis
  • Psoriatic arthritis
  • Undifferentiated arthritis
  • Giant cell arteritis
  • Polymyalgia rheumatica

The only requirement for the inclusion of participants is their written consent. Inform your patients about SCQM and the benefits of mySCQM with our brochure for patients (in German, in French, in Italian).

+
How will I be supported in using the database?

We actively support you with individual trainings - either online or directly in your office. Interested? Then contact us via the registration form.

+
How can I register?

For a user account, please contact the SCQM Foundation: 043 268 55 77 or scqm_at_hin.ch (institution name / surname / first name / email address / mobile phone number).

+
What data is collected?

There is no minimum data set that must be entered for each consultation. Please refer to the overview tables for the data collected per cohort and the documentation for the scores calculated within the SCQM.

+
What happens when patients are treated by several institutions?

If a patient is treated by several specialists, all specialists have access to all of the patient’s data, provided that a data access declaration is available. This increases security and avoids duplications, e.g. in lab analyses.

+
How can I access patient data if the patient is already registered in SCQM, but is a new patient of mine?

If a patient changes doctors, the SCQM office can release the collected data to you - all that is required is a data access declaration from the patient.

More transparency and a better overview: SCQM as a quality management tool

The SCQM database is a powerful tool that reliably supports doctors in their daily work. This is because our database is not only used for documentation - e.g. of medications and examination results, but also makes correlations and therapy progress visible - e.g. with the display of correlations and automatically calculated scores. The big advantage: Thanks to intelligent data and clear visualisations, you benefit from a solid basis for decision-making so that you can optimise the treatment of your patients in the long term.

Graphic SCQM scoreboard: The graphic allows a clear presentation of the progression of the disease in correlation with the treatment. In addition, the long-term history of the medication, including medication changes and side effects, is displayed.

A cooperative system: with data from professionals and patients in one tool

Not only do medical specialists regularly save examination results in the database. Patients also record their disease progression via questionnaires using the modern web application mySCQM - e.g. with information on their functional limitations, general quality of life and socio-economic situation. This not only improves doctor-patient communication, but you also benefit from a meaningful overall picture of the progression of the disease.

Tabular SCQM scoreboard: The tabular view allows you to view all values of past visits at a glance and compare them over the long-term. The automatically calculated scores, including a traffic light system, help you follow disease activity even faster.
