Regulations for Research and for Cooperation with the SCQM

Studies with SCQM data must be conducted according to our «Rules for research and collaboration».

Research Support from A-Z

The SCQM Foundation offers support for your research projects:

• Consultation concerning research ideas or research methods, feasibility analyses or study protocol design.
• Prospective data collection: Supporting the implementation of the study in the database, communication with centres and participating patients, accompanying data quality measures.
• Support in completing the SCQM research application.
• Administrative processing of the SCQM research application (circulation, data contract).
• Providing documentation for the submission of ethics applications.
• Preparing datasets for your research project.
• Selection and delivery of biobank aliquots or radiographs for your project.

We will be happy to provide you with a quote for the work on your research project. For institutions that use SCQM and thus also contribute data, we offer discounts on our services if the data is above a certain volume.

Discussion and consultation

The quality of the results of your analysis depends largely on how successfully you formulate a relevant and testable research question based on your research idea. We support you in defining your research question and advise you on suitable statistical methods.

Preparation

We can prepare your analysis dataset - tailor-made for your project. If desired, data preparation can also include a data check - e.g. with regard to data consistency.

Statistical analysis

The SCQM can support you both in designing and conducting the analysis and in answering the scientific question. Our services in detail:

• Feasibility analysis
• Demonstration of data quality and quantity
• Descriptive analysis of the data
• Recommendations for dealing with missing data
• Statistical models to answer the research question quantitatively
• Compilation of the results as a research report
• Help with interpreting the research results and writing a manuscript

Data quality / data cleansing

On request, we will carry out the data queries with treating physicians - even in the case of missing data, which is crucial for your project.

Bio samples

If you need biospecimens, we can assist you in selecting suitable patients and aliquots for your studies. In addition, we coordinate transport from the central biobank in Geneva to your institution. Please note that the costs for the transport have to be fully covered by the project.
