Take this opportunity to learn more about the SCQM patient registry – without any time pressure from your daily practice. We look forward to welcoming you in person at stand no. 29 at the SGR Congress 2025 in Interlaken.
Dr. Catherine Raptis, Co-Managing Director and Head of Science at the SCQM Foundation, will be happy to give you an insight into our research projects and the wide range of studies conducted using SCQM data. Catherine Raptis will also be available to discuss existing and new services with our partners. Isabelle Burger, Co-Executive Director and Head of Data Management/Communications, will be happy to show you the benefits of the patient registry and answer any questions you may have about SCQM.
We would be happy to take the time for a personal conversation – either spontaneously or by appointment.
Tip from the SGR
On Friday, 5 September, between 12:25 and 13:00, Jonas Brändli, research associate at the SCQM Foundation, will present the results of the study on the use of the mySCQM app (‘Predictors of long-term self-monitoring app use in inflammatory rheumatic diseases: Insights from the SCQM registry’) at Poster Walk III.
All posters with SCQM data can be found here.
We are pleased to introduce a new digital tool: a chatbot is now available on our website to assist you with general questions about SCQM and provide you with insights into research with SCQM.
The chatbot was developed as part of an internship by Lorenzo De Appolonia, a student at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Ticino (SUPSI). With great dedication and technical expertise, Lorenzo De Appolonia has created an initial prototype that is being continuously developed.
The chatbot is available around the clock and helps you find quick answers to frequently asked questions – simply, efficiently and directly on the website.
A big thank you to Lorenzo for his valuable contribution!

The SCQM Foundation has faced growing financial challenges in recent years. To maintain the long-term stability and financial sustainability of the foundation, a significant restructuring was necessary.
Through a strategic realignment of our resources, we are now looking confidently to the future. We have secured both the operation of our facility with the availability of data and the continuation of our core services. Ongoing and planned research projects will continue. We will also always remain true to our vision: ‘Together with applicable data to better treatments for rheumatic diseases’.
The management will now be taken over by a co-management team consisting of Dr Catherine Raptis (Science & Partnerships) and Isabelle Burger (Data Management & Communication). We would like to express our sincere thanks to our previous managing director, Dr Judith Safford, for her dedicated and valuable work. We wish her all the best for her well-deserved retirement.
At the same time, we regret that some valued employees are leaving the foundation as a result of the restructuring. We would like to thank them warmly for their great commitment and valuable work, which has contributed significantly to the development and success of the SCQM Foundation.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued trust and commitment. You are making a valuable contribution to rheumatism research and quality management.
If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The Maelstrom metadata catalogue contains record descriptions from 378 global studies, facilitating collaboration in epidemiological research.
As part of the Swiss Personalised Health Network (SPHN) Cohort Consortium, the metadata of the SCQM cohorts (RA, axSpA, PsA, GCA, PMR and pregnancy) are now part of the Maelstrom metadata catalogue. On Maelstrom, researchers can search for data sources for their research projects. Presenting SCQM data on Maelstrom will increase the visibility of the SCQM nationally and internationally and hopefully lead to even more landmark research projects.
What can you do on Maelstrom?
If you want to know more about the data collected in the SCQM yourself, the Maelstrom catalogue can also be an interesting resource for Swiss researchers.
